Accreditation Requirements: Blended MHFA Course

All three components of the Blended MHFA course must be completed to achieve accreditation, and each stage has specific requirements that participants are expected to meet.

Stage 1

E-Learning Modules

Starting August 2026

You’ll need to complete all four MHFA Blended e‑learning modules before the live session. Together, these modules usually take up to 8 hours to complete.

Stage 2

In-person session

16 September 2026

After completing all four MHFA e‑learning modules, you’ll attend a 4‑hour live online webinar facilitated by an accredited MHFA Instructor. This interactive session builds on your e‑learning by revisiting key concepts and giving you the chance to practise skills through guided activities and discussions.

Stage 3

Accredited assesment

Once you’ve completed both the e‑learning modules and the live webinar, you’ll receive an email from Mental Health First Aid Australia with instructions for your final online assessment. This open‑book assessment usually takes around 15 minutes to complete. After passing, you’ll receive your digital certificate and be accredited as a Mental Health First Aider for three years.
