Our Inaugural Golf Day was certainly a ‘hit’ with the keen golfers that joined us at Kooyonga Golf Club on Friday 20 May.
The weather and the company couldn’t have been better, well as the delicious three-course dinner that guests enjoyed after their round. Over 60 of our great supporters hosted by MC Jarrod Walsh and guest speakers, Adelaide Crows executives Adam Kelly and Dan Jackson, who after an update on Breakthrough’s vision by Executive Director John Mannion, went on to generously donate to our auction items and fundraising opportunities on the day.
In an incredible effort, over $53,000 was raised and has gone towards funding mental health research. We know that more than 2 in 5 people suffer from a mental illness. This is not acceptable, and because of their support we came one step closer to reducing these alarming figures.
Congratulations are due to the winning team on the day entered by Andrew Mattner and the Catapult Wealth team who managed to sneak in the win by the skin of their teeth ahead of the team at Crown Money.
The day was played in great spirits and the course was in spectacular shape. Our first golf day would not have been possible without the generosity of Breakthrough’s Ambassador, James Thredgold who has kindly gifted us the opportunity to run the Golf Day, and to the large number of corporate partners that sponsored holes, entered teams, or gifted in-kind auction items and donations – thank you so much!
