Clubs SA and AHA|SA Strengthen Commitment to Mental Health with Breakthrough

Breakthrough Mental Health Research Foundation is proud to continue its partnership with Clubs SA and the Australian Hotels Association (SA), following the approval of a $200,000 two-year funding extension from the Independent Gaming Corporation (IGC).

This renewed commitment builds on a successful 2023–2024 collaboration and represents a significant investment in mental health support across over 700 clubs and hotel venues throughout South Australia.

Together, the three organisations are working to improve mental health outcomes in the hospitality sector by delivering Mental Health First Aid Workshops and Wellbeing Programs to both metropolitan and regional venues. Sessions will also be available online and at Breakthrough’s head office, making training more accessible across the state.

Peter Apostolopoulos, CEO of Clubs SA

“Our clubs are the heart of their communities, making mental health a vital focus.”

Anna Moeller, CEO of AHA|SA

“It’s great to see the mental health space taken seriously. Hospitality workers face real challenges, and this support is essential.”

John Mannion, CEO of Breakthrough

“Hospitality venues are more than social hubs—they’re places where people should feel connected and supported. We’re thrilled to continue this important partnership.”

Together, Clubs SA, AHA|SA, and Breakthrough are creating a stronger, healthier future for South Australia’s hospitality industry.
