How ya bin? A question that both asks about your current state of being and how you recycle. With our new fundraising initiative, Bottles for Breakthrough, we’re asking both.
Joining our Bottles for Breakthrough initiative means no more having to sort through boxes and boxes of old drinks with lids still on them; no more begrudging trips to the depot; and no more airing out the car because someone forgot to rinse out the containers.
Recycling is now made easy and purposeful thanks to Direct Collect.
Direct Collect is a bin collection service providing homes and businesses with a dedicated bin for 10¢ refundable bottles, cans and containers. Now, you can collect your 10¢ deposit containers and raise funds for Breakthrough Mental Health Research Foundation, with just a few clicks.
With just four simple steps you could be on your way to a cleaner household or office and closer to helping create a life free from mental illness.
For a good cause
All funds raised will go directly to Breakthrough, Australia’s first and only mental health research foundation. Direct Collect transforms the act of recycling by supporting local causes and making a difference in people’s lives.
Good for the environment
Each year, up to 10,000 tonnes of refundable bottles, cans and containers end up in South Australian landfill. Signing up to Direct Collect means that half the work is done for you, so you can begin recycling for good.
Good for a conversation starter
This service can also be used to prompt meaningful conversations around mental health in a relaxed and informal manner. When you throw a container into the bin after a Friday knock-off, simply ask your colleague, “How ya bin?”.
It really is that easy. So, what are you waiting for? Sign up today by clicking on the link below and start collecting Bottles for Breakthrough.
Breakthrough acknowledges the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the first inhabitants of this nation and the traditional custodians of the lands where we live, learn and work. We recognise all Australian communities who, through their lived experience, help to guide the research funded by Breakthrough.
Breakthrough acknowledges those with lived experiences of mental illness. Every person’s story is uniquely theirs with their own challenges and triumphs, hopes and dreams; but together, we all share the same desire to live a life of connection, belonging and freedom. We are grateful to those who are willing to share their stories, and for the opportunities to listen.
