The project will test an enhanced method of training clinicians in a psychological therapy for treating posttraumatic stress disorder. To date, evaluation of the clinical effectiveness (does it work for the client) and the benefits to society (does reducing PTSD have economic and social benefits) have not been simultaneously examined with respect to the costs of actually providing expert training to clinicians. The findings will lead to improved understanding of these critical issues and has significant implications for health services and policy makers who require high quality data when making decisions regarding allocating scarce health resources.
