By choosing to invest in mental health research, you’ve taken the first step towards changing the life of thousands of Australians.

The below information explains what your obligations are when undertaking a direct debit arrangement with Breakthrough Mental Health Research Foundation and what Breakthrough Mental Health Research Foundation’s obligations are to you. It also includes information about how to contact us to make any changes to your regular gift.

Breakthrough Mental Health Research Foundation will provide written confirmation of your direct debit arrangement via email within seven days of your sign-up, which will include:

  • the amount of your regular donation
  • the total annual cost
  • the frequency of the agreed regular donation
  • the date of the commencement of the direct debit arrangement

Your account will be debited in accordance with these details unless you contact Breakthrough Mental Health Research Foundation to request a change to your arrangement.

Enquires and Disputes

All enquiries or disputes should be directed to Breakthrough Mental Health Research Foundation in the first instance for the matter to be promptly resolved.

If you believe that there has been an error with your debit, please notify Breakthrough Mental Health Research Foundation as soon as possible. You will receive a refund if Breakthrough Mental Health Research Foundation deems that a debit was made in error.

Changes and Cancellations

You have the right to cancel, defer or make alterations to your direct debit/credit card payment arrangement at any time by contacting Breakthrough Mental Health Research Foundation. In the event your direct debit/credit card payment arrangement is cancelled, no further amounts will be debited from your account and Breakthrough Mental Health Research Foundation will confirm the cancellation in writing (by email or post) within ten business days.

Receipts

All donations of $2.00 or more to Breakthrough Mental Health Research Foundation are tax deductible.

Receipts will be issued to donors with a regular giving arrangement at the end of each financial year. However, you can request a receipt at any time by contacting Breakthrough Mental Health Research Foundation.

Privacy

Your personal information will be collected, used and disclosed in accordance with Breakthrough Mental Health Research Foundation’s privacy policy.
