Looking after yourself during COVID-19
Breakthrough’s Executive Director John Mannion took to the airwaves this week to discuss mental health and our need, as a community, to be acutely aware of it during the current climate of Coronavirus (COVID-19).
John spoke with Tony Pilkington on FIVEaa Adelaide about the negative impacts quarantine and social distancing has had on our wellbeing. The main concern is people are at risk of feeling isolated which is why staying connected to family and friends is so important.
The negative impacts on social isolation on anxiety and depression can equate to the same negative health impacts of smoking about 15 cigarettes a day.
John spoke about the importance of looking after yourself and your family during this time and how taking part in STREAM tactics can have multiple positive impacts.
