About the program
Our Big Talks for Little People campaign was rolled out earlier this year to a select group of schools. The pilot featured six mental health modules that focused on emotions, resilience and conflict management and was presented to the students with engaging animations. We also delivered a friendship bench to each school so the kids could continue the conversation in the playground.
Research shows a child’s first responder is their friend – not a parent or teacher – so it’s vital to teach children how to have mental health conversations at a young age so they can support each other.
Preliminary results show that in all pilot schools, wellbeing increased dramatically as well as a reduction of bullying by up to 25 per cent. These results are staggering for a six-week course.
That’s why we need your help. We need to roll this out to schools across the state, in sporting clubs and to a wider age group. But we can’t do this without your support.
