#CrazySocks4Docs aims to raise awareness of mental health issues experienced by doctors. Doctors experience the full range of mental health issues – anxiety, depression, burnout, fear, anger. It’s time for us to shine a spotlight on this endemic issue of mental health amongst us.
The campaign was started in 2017 by Dr Geoff Toogood, who has championed mental health support for doctors after his own battle with mental illness.
“It is so important that doctors start talking to each other, to their family and friends about mental illness,” says Dr Toogood.
“Having a conversation about how you’re feeling is the first step.”
“Doctors need to look after each other, so that we can look after everyone else.”
South Australian Salaried Medical Officers Association (SASMOA) and Doctors Health SA present the #CrazySocks4Docs breakfast with all ticket proceeds donated to the Breakthrough Mental Health Research Foundation who are dedicated to supporting doctors by tackling mental health head on.
We invite you to join us and help raise funds for ground-breaking mental health research to protect and enhances doctors’ mental health.
Hear from guest speakers including #CrazySocks4Docs Founder Dr Geoff Toogood, Professor Michael Baigent, Professor Paul Ward and Doctor Jill Benson AM with Channel 7’s Adelaide Weekend news presenter Jessica Adamson as Emcee.
